Lift the lever of this nickel plated brass ball valve and give it a quarter turn to open it "with your finger". Return the lever to its original position and it locks closed. A-115Adapter Male Thread : NPT 1/4 -18 Female Thread : NPT 1/4-18 Fits valve part # EZ-115 Some oil pans are designed with a recessed drain hole which may prevent the valve from being installed properly. If the valve cannot be tightened all the way without hitting the oil pan wall, do not install the Drain Valve to your vehicle. Adapters are available for some models. Note: For NPT threads, we recommend using teflon tape or sealant on the threads. |
* Note: National Pipe Thread (NPT) plugs are tapered and they are self-tightening plugs. As you turn and tighten the plug (or the valve), it gets tighter and it will eventually stop with a few threads still exposed. Since these types of plugs use the compression between the male/female threads to seal, they do not require gaskets or washers to seal between the flange and the oil pan. Please see the photo below for comparison.
